frequently asked questions
Is there a smoking area?
No. Smoking and vaping is strictly prohibited in the Laneway and the surrounding West Village precinct. Smoking and vaping can occur on Boundary Street, Wilson Street and Mollison Street on the fringes of West Villages Precinct.
Can we bring in our own decorations?
Yes, you are welcome to bring in any of your own decorations and styling, however all must be approved by Metro Arts prior to installation. No candles or confetti are permitted. Please be aware that balloons require additional approval.
What if I need some technical assistance?
Metro Arts has a team of experienced venue technical staff who are available to assist with your event requirements, whether it’s a powerpoint presentation or a full-scale event in our New Benner Theatre. Our technical staff can be engaged to assist with the needs of your event. Please note that fees and conditions for technical staffing apply.
What time will we have access to the venue to set-up?
An increased set up time is dependent on the availability of the venue and required staffing, please speak to your event team if you require an earlier time.
Is there parking in the venue?
West Village has 450 secure on-site parking bays (free for 2 hrs) accessible via Mollison Street. Alternatively, there is limited on-street parking available but please note parking metres may apply.
